700MW Thermal Power Unit Energy Storage Frequency Regulation Project

2026-04-13

Project Overview

This project deploys an Energy Storage System for frequency regulation at Units #1 and #2 (700MW) of Zhuhai Thermal Power Plant in Guangdong, China. The system integrates a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with thermal power generation units to enhance grid frequency regulation capability and improve the operational flexibility of the power plant.

By combining thermal power units with fast-response energy storage technology, the project enables more precise and efficient automatic generation control (AGC) and supports participation in grid ancillary service markets.
